Council Director Election is Official!

On August 3, 2024, at the 50th reunion event held at Taylor Mountain Ranch in Maple Valley, classmates were asked to ratify (approve) the provision results of the election for six Council Director positions. In a voice vote, classmates voted overwhelmingly to approve the election.

Listed below in alphabetical order by first name are the six people elected to the Council:

  • Kerry Brown
  • La Jean (Heim) Rohland
  • Paula (Rudberg) Lowe
  • Steve Carlson
  • Suzy Van Hout-Lindeke
  • Tom Salzer

At the next meeting of the Council, terms of office will be determined and the Council will select officers. Three of the positions will be set to a one-year term of office and the other three will be for two years. Next year, the three one-year positions will be up for election to two-year terms. At that point in time, all Council positions will be for two-year terms on a staggered basis.

Thank you to all classmates who voted in the MOUNT RAINIER 1974 Council Director election. We used Election Runner (https://electionrunner.com) for this election.

We sent ballots to 214 voters (all we had email addresses for). Forty-nine people (23% of the ballots sent) voted (49 of 214 is 22.9%).

Vote summary for nominees

With six nominees for six positions, and no other names submitted for election, the choice is really an on-off switch: a nominee either received at least one vote, or did not. Receiving one of more votes means that person is provisionally elected.

These results will be presented at the Reunion event on Saturday, August 3, and class members will be asked to ratify the provisional results via a voice vote.
