Thank you to all classmates who voted in the MOUNT RAINIER 1974 Council Director election. We used Election Runner (https://electionrunner.com) for this election.
We sent ballots to 214 voters (all we had email addresses for). Forty-nine people (23% of the ballots sent) voted (49 of 214 is 22.9%).
Election summaryOnly six classmates were nominated for the six available Council Director positions. Two write-in votes were received but those two write-ins matched the names of two of the six nominees. No votes were cast for anyone other than the six nominees.
The provisional results of the election are as follows:
- 49 votes: Paula (Rudberg) Lowe
- 46 votes: Kerry Brown
- 46 votes: Tom Salzer
- 45 votes: La Jean (Heim) Rohland
- 45 votes: Steve Carlson
- 44 votes: Suzy Van Hout-Lindeke
With six nominees for six positions, and no other names submitted for election, the choice is really an on-off switch: a nominee either received at least one vote, or did not. Receiving one of more votes means that person is provisionally elected.
These results will be presented at the Reunion event on Saturday, August 3, and class members will be asked to ratify the provisional results via a voice vote.
If you have any questions about this election or process, please contact Tom Salzer or visit the recent post titled About the Corporation and Electing Directors.
