In February, reunion committee members toured Taylor Mountain Ranch, the venue for the 50th MRHS reunion. Some members piled into a 15-passenger van piloted by Kerry Brown to travel to the venue in Hobart near Maple Valley. Being in the van allowed us to prepare for the site visit and catch up with our classmates over the last 50 years! Other committee members met us on site.

Members measured the rooms, scouted electrical and music outlets, located the large bar in the social room, looked at parking and catering locations, and found sites for the photo booth, class photo and memorial room. Venue hosts Estelle and K.C. answered our questions and gave us some excellent suggestions.

Next on the agenda is to create a room layout and timeline, based on venue tour notes and measurements, and a lot of event know-how.

Committee members on the tour were Kerry Brown, Trudy (Baever) Briggs, Steve Carlson, Brad Goodspeed, Scott Hieronymus, Jackie Hill, Robin (Cooley) Krause, Suzy (VanHout) and Dale Lindeke, Mark Clark, Rhonda Pettigrew, LaJean (Heim) Rohland, Paula Rudberg Lowe. Arlyn Sandstrom, class of 1977, also attended the tour; she will volunteer at the food buffet during the reunion.

Thanks to Suzy for bringing the delicious homemade gluten-free treats and to Kerry for bringing the homemade waffle-cookies.

As always, thanks to Michael Paulson’s connections for helping us book the beautiful venue, also our venue at the 40th reunion.
